Ah, this makes sense. Am I hallucinating that columns widths used to be remembered many years back? In other words, in column view, if you resized a column for a given folder, close Finder, and reopen to that folder—it would remain the same width.

Finder is mostly unusable for any directory containing long filenames since it doesn’t remember this. But I swear it used to. Am I misremembering?

I just tested and for me they seem to be remembered for my Downloads folder. Weirdly, at first it didn't seem to be remembered, but then I pressed ⌘+J to look at the view settings, and now when I change a column width it seems to be remembered...

Probably not enough to offset the regression tax.

As an American, I wasn’t suspicious at all. I don’t know anyone personally who I think would be, either.

Your comment serves nothing but to suggest anew that Americans _should_ be suspicious. Either that was your aim to begin with or you’re okay with that result.

You misinterpreted my statement. OP was suggesting we should be suspicious because it’s from a Germany entity. I am not suspicious specifically due to it being from Germany.

Also, you are extremely ignorant and uneducated yourself. See, I used the same logic you did—knowing nothing about you and calling you uneducated. Feels good, doesn’t it?

Why not both?

Not everyone is chilling. Some of us are protesting and/or moving our families out of the country.

Some of them stupidly print the account number on them. I mean, we do had out our account and routing number to people on checks, but we don’t give checks to the entire Internet.

My grandmother is currently dying from vascular dementia at 80. She sleeps all day. There’s really nothing you can do except keep them comfortable. There is no cure, only treatments for side effects unfortunately.

And yes, she smells weird ;) it’s mostly from change in normal hygiene. No matter how much you help clean them, they will smell different than they used to. And not good-different.

I think he was being facetious ;)

This is _not_ at all the same thing. Grok just ripped off Wikipedia as its base and then applied a biased spin to it. Check out the entry on Grok owner Elon Musk; it praises his accomplishments and completely omits or downplays most of his better-known controversies.

And everything is “fact checked” by the Grok LLM. Which… Yeah…

The Grok information source is more reliable than Wikipedia.

Objectively and incrementally improving. The leadership behind Grok is human rated safe rocket science quality.

Whereas Wikipedia is a fugly dumpsterdive.

I’ve worked on large-scale LLM translations for a largish niche-topic publisher and I can attest this is a nuanced process. You have to create a manual feedback loop with a native speaker and use that to improve the prompt until it gets to a certain point.

The hardest so far was Japanese. The easiest, strangely enough, was Mandarin—which was like 97% accurate out of the box using Claude.
