> However, I lead a life of very few meetings

An old business partner had meetings which felt like 24/7. He had zero issue taking a phone call in the bathroom. I doubt anyone on the other end ever knew.

But my 1 pair of Bluetooth headphones are dead and who could possibly sleep at night if their phone was 1mm thicker for a headphone jack???

He was a speakerphone or hold it to his ear person lol. Only used headphones if he was listening to music.

> gym no one talks with anyone

The thing about the gym is you need to be consistent at the same days/time for a while. Eventually proximity will lead to some interactions. Instead of having full blown conversations at the gym though, I've also found it really works when I see a person from the gym somewhere else. Obviously in a place like NYC this is less like than a smaller town/city.

That assumes your backlog is finite.

Is the tech writers backlog also seemingly infinite like every tech backlog I've ever seen?

The tech writer backlog is probably worse, because writing good documentation requires extensive experience with the software you're writing documentation about and there are four types of documentation you need to produce.

Yes. Yes it is.

Same. Chrome dev tools, especially around JS are just better.

I had a 2008 Tundra I sold when I moved to the EU not too long ago. Still miss it. It was big, but could easily tow my boat or haul anything I needed. Was a 4 door and had a full sized bed. Had 125k miles when I sold it, and still ran great.

I would have gotten a Tacoma, but I need the extra towing capacity.

> Elon got heavily involved in politics hurt it quite a bit

I think the Cybertruck was DOA and his involvement in politics got people who shared his views to buy one in order to signal the same.

Also the fact that many truck deliveries were literally DOA as in the truck bricked itself in the driveway.

This isn't even remotely true though?

I don't know man maybe I hallucinated all the news coverage

> Put your money where your mouth is

I do, through my tax dollars. And the amount of money that was DOGEd was literally couch cushion change on the scale of the federal budget. And not only did those cuts directly lead to deaths but weakened US soft power all around the world, letting China step in.

China’s soft power play yielded returns: ports, minerals, oil, factories, customers for their exports.

The only Americans benefiting from the existing aid scheme are the network of lobbyists and NGOs.

As I said upthread, if you’re that motivated, donate $500 to a high-impact charity and you’ll do far more good for people on the ground than what your taxes were doing at USAID.

So you don't believe in soft power?

I was about to write this. Heat pump dryers take a little longer, but they are so much gentler on clothes.

Agreed. I go to many industry conferences and rarely step foot on the conference floor. It's a great way to get everyone I need to speak to in one place for a few days.

I agree with you. It should also be clearly marked it's AI.

I have this discussion all the time about written stories. At some point AI will start creating very good and possibly great written works. Do we ignore them because they are AI? I would hope not.
