PCs are inundated with shit running in the background that is useful to everyone but the person in the chair. I just randomly opened an application (Spotify) and it took 20 seconds to become usable. I suspect that there was competing processing time. Can there be (or is there) an OS level statistic that indicates exactly WHAT is demanding processing time over the thing that you are trying to do ?
