Is there any room in your cynicism for any other view?

For example, maybe Google leadership did hear the complaints, then realized what was happening and what could happen, and decided that something needed to be done to create and uphold values.

I don't approve of defensive cynicism, I don't believe it makes a better world. In fact, I think that defensive cynicism is the reason why the world sucks. Let me guess, you don't vote because "all politicians are liars"? How's that working out for you?

Sorry for your pain. I understand this realistic approach bothers you a bit. As it happens, I expect decency from individuals, not corporations. My skepticism is justified in Google's post, since at the end of all the words, absolutely nothing was changed. If Google were truly listening, they would stop working on the project immediately. Therefore, rather than outright contrition, this post reads more like "Sorry, not sorry."

Politicians follow Hotelling's Law. It doesn't actually matter who you vote for as long as you vote. The only thing that changes is the flavour, and that's a matter of personal preference.

I don't find the idea of Google's leadership being as out of touch and out of control as that would require to be more comforting than the idea that they are responsive to bad PR.

Let me guess, you vote for the candidate with the worst track record to prove that you aren't cynical about them. How's that working out for you and Mr. Trump?
