I considered a similar idea during my last conference, when a casual stroll through the poster session left me thinking "I could do a lot of damage with the papers in this room alone". A simple example: one poster about how to change people's behavior with peer pressure over social networks, and another one about how to detect depressed users. You could do a lot of damage combining those two.
Ethics is not CS' strong point. Adding a statement "this is why I think this research is ethical" doesn't seem like a bad place to start, if only because it would force researchers to actually consider what they are doing.
well, when you use technology to uncover problems, you open the door to both fixing them and exploiting them. knowledge is power, and power can be used for whatever you want. and yet no one is thinking about pulling kids out of schools.
