My family has three generations of programmers.
My father graduated with a math degree in the early 60's and was hired by IBM a few years later as a programmer, mostly COBOL and assembler. He left in the mid-70's to start his own software company. Today, at the age of 78, he is still gainfully employed (albeit part-time) writing code.
My sister and I both graduated in the late 80's with CS degrees. We've been writing software ever since for companies both big and small.
My niece just graduated in May with a CS degree and is currently writing code for Boston Children's hospital, making her the third in a line who have made a living primarily writing software. There's nothing special about it but I think that has to be somewhat rare. How many generations are in your family?
