It could cost that much but it clearly won’t because Medicare doesn’t have the budget for it.

But it made me click the link so ad revenue secured!

And yet Biogen's stock is only $51B? Either the numbers are off or everyone should be buying it.

It's highly suspected that someone will pull the plug on this drug.

They raked Shkreli over the coals when he raised the price of Daraprim but promised to give it away for free to anyone who couldn't afford it. They dragged Bresch in in front of Congress and grilled her over the increase in price for the EpiPen.

Now there is barely a squeak when Biogen charges 56k for a drug that doesn't work. Where is the outrage?

If it doesn’t work then by definition nobody is being denied effective treatment, therefore there is nothing to be outraged about.

Isn't ripping off desperate Alzheimer's patients and the taxpayer something to be outraged about?

Peddling false hope to the sick for profit is a particularly sinister form of cruelty.

Yes, scammers are out there scamming. It’s not quite the same as jacking up the price of insulin, though.

It’s called the court of public opinion

Politics. Big Pharma heavily lobbies left-wing forces and in return gains the support of the media and big tech.
