Cardbox is one of the fastest-growing power-ups for Trello (100,000+ installs).
Bootstrapped, no plans to raise VC. This is the first hire, you'll be working alongside myself. I was technical founder of Yardsale (YC S11, acq. 2015), and lead technical advisor for HBO Silicon Valley (s3).
-
Stack: React.JS, Rails, and Redis to coordinate 1m+ synchronizations per day. Most of the UI runs in an iframe on Trello.com, which requires cross domain considerations [1].
-
There are plenty of tools to add Kanban boards to Gmail, and they're all pretty successful. Kanban boards are better than lists for organizing workflows.
But Cardbox is the first to do the inverse. We add a Gmail inbox to Trello. Other tools can only support some subset of Trello features, usually poorly.
This 1) is harder to build (so more valuable), 2) offers better UX than a Trello knock-off, and 3) works with existing integrations, so it benefits from Trello's significant network effects.
Lastly, Gmail is missing from Trello as a built-in feature but present in almost every competitor (e.g. Monday.com). They will either build or buy this, so it's important to move fast.
Our side project OpenDocument Reader - an open source mobile app to view ODF documents - turned into a profitable project. We have a few ideas on how to further improve the app but don't have enough time to do all of it on our own since it's still just a side project for us.
Possible ways you could help, sorted by priority:
- Build JavaScript implementations to display various file formats that are out of scope for our core library, e.g. RTF, markdown, video, ...
- Build sample app that uses our C++ core in a web app using WebAssembly

I help startups with UX/UI and web design for their products, including design work for new and existing web apps, websites and landing pages. My background as a full stack developer and startup founder helps me come up with practical design solutions that balance usability, aesthetics, development effort and performance.

The best live example of my work is Checkbot (https://www.checkbot.io/), a browser extension that tests websites for SEO, speed and performance problems. The entire project is my own work including coding the extension itself, UX/UI design, website design (the desktop homepage is optimised to load in 0.7 seconds with only 0.3MB transferred), website copy, and website articles on web best practices.

I help new to existing business owners build a better looking face for their company.
Since 2008, I started with no experience to a self-taught designer to improve style and the looks of businesses around the world.
I have worked with numerous startups & businesses such as Notedock, VideoReviewLabs, Synup, Captivation Software, Eksdyne, Aviation, & KPAway Skincare, and more.
I am building an overview of how to go from "Zero to Web App" via all the popular frameworks out there. Django, Flask, Laravel, Symfony ...
Each framework will be represented as a shell script which turns a fresh Docker image with Debian into a working web app with routing, templates and user accounts.
It is an open source project, but I am happy to pay for the scripts to be written.
If you want to write one of the scripts, hit me up!
I have been doing Golang, TypeScript and Python professionally, mostly targeting Backend development. I have led JavaScript to Typescript migration of frontend and took complete responsibility to add multiple enterprise backend modules with test driven approach. Furthermore, I tend to be a T-shaped person with the core in full-stack/backend and consistently learning leadership skills. I understand database internals and actively contribute to Redis ecosystem. Properly skilled with distributed technologies and cloud native patterns. Currently working for a fintech company. I have multiple independent contractor experience spanning from desktop & web application development to reverse engineering mobile applications. I also contribute to OSS during my free time.
NOTE: I'm available only for contract/part-time work.

I'm making 2022 the year I step back from generic B2B copywriting and commit to open source.
Open-source company/project with no branding or marketing experience & direction? Struggling to talk to your varied & audiences (free users, contributors, paid users) because of your open-core business model?
I can help by:
1. Designing a developer-first branding & marketing framework
2. Clarifying your open-source strategy to build trust through transparency
3. Writing new copy for your website, GitHub READMEs, email, and everything in-between to clarify who you are, what you're building, and who it's for
Lately, I've also been bridging into documentation and developer marketing for my favorite clients—I've managed 400+ page Docusaurus/MDX docs sites and done tons of technical IT/DevOps content in the past—because it's in such high demand right now.
• Dataset building (DEM coregistration, web scraping)
• Data engineering (setting up a geospatial datastore, ML pipelines)

SEEKING WORK - REMOTE I help non-technical founders build and launch Million Dollar MVPs. Are you a non-technical founder struggling to find technical partners to help make your startup vision a reality? I’ve spent the last ten years obsessing about how to help founders like you get their startups off the ground and into the marketplace. Since leaving Google in 2015 and starting No Nerds No Problem, I’ve grown this company to 10+ nerds across 4 different countries, been featured in Bloomberg, and have helped more than 25 companies launch their MVPs and raise a combined $650M in fundraising.
And I can help you do the same.
Here's what my clients have to say:
“Before we started No Nerds' process, I wasn’t sure it would be worth it. Having gone through it, I can’t imagine it going any other way." - Sachin Gulaya (CEO, Alpine Vapors)
“James and his team stepped in at a critical moment in Wellness 4 Humanity's trajectory and delivered exactly what we needed to hit our deadlines." - Lian Pham (Founder, Wellness 4 Humanity)
“After three years of other agencies promising a lot but delivering little, getting to test a prototype after just a few weeks was very cool. From the first time we sat down, I really felt James got what I was trying to do.” - Andy Lin (Founder, Self Portrait Project)

"We had an urgent and time-sensitive web frontend project and Derick was very responsive and crucial in helping us get this project done in time. As it was our first web project given to a freelancer, we made a couple of mistakes and the designs we provided were not fully detailed out, but Derick was very patient with us and walked us through the design, and made sure we considered all the use cases that we had missed. I would definitely recommend Derick for any freelance web development projects you have!" — Sanju Varghese, Product Engineer at Reframe (YC S21)

- Saved a company $500k a year in CI infrastructure costs.
- Worked with several hundred engineer organizations to migrate from Jenkins to GitHub Actions.
- Introduced configuration as code and GitOps best practices to teams.
- Built dynamic review environments triggered on a pull request.
I'm available to:
- Reduce the costs of your CI infrastructure so that you can free up your infrastructure budget.
- Help you migrate from Jenkins to a more modern CI platform, like GitHub Actions, to reduce operational overhead and iterate faster.

These are the questions I can help you answer so that you can decide on the right trade-offs that make sense for your company as it scales to avoid future expensive migrations.
- Do implementation work. Maybe you're a small team that doesn't have enough DevOps resources. I can augment your team, dive in, and start delivering fast. For $10 dollars, I'll review your website's Content Security Policy, security headers, and general HTTP sanity and give a detailed, completely customized report about what could be improved, and how such improvements could be integrated with the necessary functionality of your app.
I truly, truly love CSPs and HTTP header security. They aren't as exiting as big bugs that pay out huge bounties, but they often prevent such bugs from being exploitable in the first place :)

Hi , I'm Johannes!
I talk to humans and machines and specialize in golang, kubernetes as well as automating everything.
As consultant and developer I provide services from DevOps to application development and have a history of completing projetcs on time and in budget. I currently foucs on kubernetes, golang and terraform but have seen and worked on multiple environments.
I grew up with the internet, uploaded my first websites to geocities, was tech-admin of a lot of bulletin boards and have been doing professional code since 2003. After trying to build my first start-up in 2006 I realised that they just won’t come only because I built it. Therefore, I have a bachelor economical psychology, which helps me immensely with team leadership and communication but also allows me to view the product from multiple perspectives.
What started out as WordPress ans ASP.NET agency with server hosting in 2007 has long since evolved into full service consultancy and freelancing services with clients throughout the globe. I started working when Servers where still mostly dedicated, have lived the revolution of virtual servers, made a short stop at serverless tech and am now invested in the kubernetes ecosystem and its containers. My preferred clouds are Azure and AWS, but I have worked on others and also like to tame bare-metal and everything in-between. I love solving difficult issues and have worked on multi cloud deployments before.
All this makes me perfect if you are looking for someone with seniority, that is flexible, plays well with others but also likes to get his hands dirty. If you would like to see what I have been up to, please check the projects section on LinkedIn.

I have 15 years of experience building full-stack web applications. My original background is in robotics and embedded systems, but I moved to web apps after realizing their potential. It's been a wild ride and a pleasure to see tech progress over the years, and it's only going to continue getting better. I seem to have a knack for winning design patterns, as I was building web apps with my own React-like library before React existed. I also have years of experience in game development, plus some dabbles in machine learning, crypto, and fintech.
I prefer a minimal TypeScript + React + Node.js JAMstack, but it all depends on (the best tools for) the job. I'm a quick learner and will enjoy working with just about anything.
If you're looking for someone to help you quickly reach your goals, build your app(s), and take your business to the next level, I would love to help you do that. I've worked with teams to build apps for online stores, education services, cloud storage, medical equipment, gaming, blogs, machines in remote locations, chat bots, search engine optimization... you name it and I've probably done it. Side projects of mine range from an open source browser extension for automating end-to-end tests without code (see TestFront.io) to a new approach to email designed to eliminate unwanted mail, while never missing the important stuff (see TricepMail.com).
If you're looking to build a custom cross-platform app, designed for teams, to scale, and with the future in mind, you may be interested in my latest startup, Molecule.dev. It allows you to quickly assemble all of the core functionality you need, saving you months of development time and tens of thousands in development costs. (You may also skip straight to the assembler at https://assemble.molecule.dev.) Your Molecule includes incredibly thorough documentation, tutorials, and step-by-step instructions so that everyone on your team always has exactly what they need.
