Bit of a jar to see the first in the list, as it is part of the topic of my PhD. Pure coincidence, nothing meaningful, just ... Gosh!

See, you're doing it wrong; your response should have been, "I dunno, I just think (link to PhD paper) might be on to something."

Sadly, the PhD was completed in 1990 (although the work was done earlier) and the result has been overtaken by more recent work.

Also, my PhD isn't on-line, and I'm not sure I even have a soft copy any more. It was quite undistinguished, although one of the papers based on the same work is what got me an Erdős number of the second type of 3. (My Erdős number of the first type is 2).

Of the PhD holders I've known, I've learned to expect obscurity, however brilliant or rock-dumb they are.
