These low cost embedded switches/routers based on the new Intel Xeon D can be a boon for the SD-WAN and NFV/NVF eco-system based on Linux at the edge and the data center[1]. All we need now is Linux networking distro like Ubuntu for the networking world.
Currently Ubuntu is the most popular distro for Linux container and 6th in overall Distrowatch ranking [1]. VyOS is not the most popular NOS and does not even feature on Distrowatch top 100. Not sure why but there's that ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
