> I don’t buy Apple products for philosophical reasons

philosophical? they are the most responsible company ever https://www.apple.com/environment/

they push performance limit while maintaining very low power consumption

What's philosophical into buying Intel or Microsoft Windows that constantly spy on you and forces bloat on your face year after year?

Apple reinvest into its OS and HW, i don't understand your logic

LOL. If Apple actually cared about the environment they would make their products repairable and not fight people who repairs them.

It doesn't matter what you say if people are force to trash the entire computer because of one part failure. Most computers will not be recycled and a lot of them end up in toxic fires and stripped for metals.

Linking to a marketing page of one of the absolute worst offenders and claiming that they are the most responsible company ever is delusional.

Apple pushes promotions of their services into my face all the time. Apple Music, Apple Arcade, Apple Whatever. I hate it. At least with Windows I can disable it once and forget about it.

Microsoft puts ads in the file explorer, pre-loads its OS with bloatware and unremovable (other than by using third-party hacks) system tray icons for software nobody wants or cares about, spies on absolutely everything all of the time, and sometimes surreptitiously re-enables all of the above when you've gone out of your way to disable them - and it's Apple you think is pushing their services into your face all the time?

I feel like Windows users have become hostages without realising it, trapped in an endless cycle of abuse designed to mentally beat them into submission until they just stop noticing the horror of what Windows has become. Even the UI is an insane hodge-podge of bizarre interaction paradigms and half-finished flows that make it seem like everyone on the design team suffers from split personality disorder.

If it's what you have to use because you need Windows-only tools or you have games that won't run under Proton or WINE or whatever then I get it, but I will never understand people who consciously choose to use such a hateful, abusive OS.

And for what it's worth, I can't think of a time that macOS has ever mentioned Apple Music or Apple Arcade or any other Apple service other than iCloud to me, and even then it's only been when I've run out of cloud storage space and needed to upgrade anyway.

I never had such issue on my M1 macbook

But i didn't know you you prefer when microsoft force install Candy Crush Saga, Tiktok, Adobe in your start menu, you can remove them? no you can't, and even if you manage to, they'll come back at the next update ;)

To each their own after all, different standard of quality and respect i guess
