Hey HN! I just released hTorrent, a gateway that allows for retrieving torrents through a plain HTTP interface. It supports seeking, which means that it can be used to stream media directly using e.g. MPV without having to wait for the download to complete.

I'd love to get your feedback :)



Is this roughly equivalent to https://github.com/mafintosh/peerflix ?

Oh that is awesome! Yup this is exactly what it is doing, didn't see it before!


While both tools serve similar purposes, I think this one is a bit different as it provides a raw stream of any file in a torrent via HTTP, not "just" video :)
