I lost my context while typing that comment and ended up speaking more generally. I can't speak to what the calculus is while hiring Rust developers but what you're positing sounds plausible. I know that, as someone with a very small amount of production Elixir experience, a lot of JDs I see are pretty adamant about it. Ergo, if I wanted to move to an org that is using Elixir, I would have to downlevel, and I don't know if I like the language that much...
