Gaming journalists are neither gamers or journalists.
High-quality, factual content is usually boring. Gamers won't read it. So for a journalist to cover gaming, they'll have to resort to making clickbait and ragebait, and at that point, the quality is so low that I don't think it's fair to still call it journalism, as it would be an insult to the word.
Then there's the multitude of journalists that just simply don't understand games. They're so bad at games that you start to wonder if they're even capable of completing 1-1 in Super Mario Bros.
