In February, the number of visitors to chat.openai.com increased to 1B according to Similarweb. These visitors stayed for about 8 minutes on average.

At the same time, the number of visitors to Google decreased from 88B in Jan to 80B in Feb. Maybe it's related, maybe not. Time will tell.

I doubt is related. Could be seasonal. More people go outside as the weather gets warmer so they search on Google less.

It could be that February is the shortest month, while January has 31 days. That’s two extra days.

My napkin math says that’s roughly the expected drop for having two fewer days in a month.

88*(28/31) is roughly 79.5. A little over 90% of users as the previous month, with around 90% of the days.

That’s lazily assuming all days are created equal.

It isn’t a simple 10% drop.
