FTA: Purdue students can now add their ID to Apple Wallet or Google Wallet and use their iPhone, Apple Watch or Android devices

So, not just Apple, but Android too...

Am I understanding this right? It means a student must have a phone and must carry it with them always (or at least almost always)? Does the phone also have to have a subscription, ie, is the student required to pay one of the cell phone service providers for the privilege of having a student ID?

i remember campus cops, being quite hardass, about inability to produce ID. physical ID is not as volatile, or prone to malfunction, as digital.
