I think this is from 2001 per Wayback. I hate that PG's essays don't have dates.


PG's essays do have dates. Try clicking through to all the items in http://paulgraham.com/articles.html. I can't remember ever seeing one that didn't have month and year.

OP wasn't written by PG, though. There's no index for such posts that I'm aware of, so I don't know what their information architecture is.


Same. Even if essays are timeless, it still helps to know the context in which they were written.
