It is fascinating to me that some people work hard to remove telemetry, and others work hard to add it.

This handbook simply explains how we work. It has been one of the most important things we've ever made.

It's actually the reason I applied about a month ago. The amount of thought and consideration was really impressive to me.

Ironically the “What is Posthog?” page doesn’t tell you what Posthog actually is.

I believe this is their company handbook, not a marketing page. So more intended for employees, who presumably already know what the product is.

Ah it's my company's operating handbook not our product docs or marketing pages. Didn't expect to see this here so fast after we rewrote it recently!

Regardless, I've made a PR to tighten up one of the titles that is confusing here, waiting on build :) https://github.com/PostHog/posthog.com/pull/6862

It's hilariously bad, and they've had a few posts here recently.

Why AstroTurf without actually sorting the website out?

Posthog is actually a pretty bad service. I recently tried integrating. Created an account. Stuck in the verify your email for over a day. Language specific documentation incredibly poor. Very sparse data. And on top they try the whole we're open source trick which grinds my gears.

I've seen "Post hog" too many times in less savoury situations to not laugh at the name.
