I find it ironic to see (what I think is) the Trump wall in the background. The entire argument for building it was to prevent such crossings. It looks massive.
There are several more crossings I know of where illegals can walk around the end of the existing wall and line up to be apprehended then released to NGOs. They line up and wait in a line to be taken by US Border Patrol buses. Its not just 1 or 2 places. There are MANY such breaks in the fence where US Border Patrol collects illegals and releases them to the US after capturing some biometric information.
If agents are prevented from capturing illegal entrants and the current administration invests $0 in upkeep of the border wall then this seems inevitable.
After the newer border wall was built, it reduced crossings in those areas by >70%.
Of course, when the current policy amounts to 'we won't stop you when you come in', it not only doesn't deter crossings but it encourages them.
It's ironic, because it reflects the shifting landscape of Democrat policy, who's members repeatedly voted for a border wall and border security measures (Biden voted for the 2006 Secure Fence Act and has previously stated employers who employ illegals should be jailed).
