The AST approach should be integrated into code generation. Instead of generating text, generate AST nodes. Something like “Copilot with Intellisense” could be a game changer.
I think you're 100% right. We have been shy to do this because we wonder if that would be a step-function improvement over GitHub Copilot, enough that people would switch. Hard to say.
