Ditto here. Their adding advertising in the cli was the straw that completely broke that camels back (for me).



Wait, what is this?? I am on Kubuntu 22.04 and have never seen any advertising. I might need to pivot if the upgrade is going to hurt.


They are probably referring to the Ubuntu Pro (previously Advantage I believe) notices that appear when you login via SSH or do apt updates. They can be disabled/hidden anyway, but they are still conceptually invasive.


I have never seen them. Odd.


If you don't use the cli for updating systems then you might not see it.

At least, until they expand the advertising to other tools as well.
