What's the main reason for using binoculars rather than a monocular system? Is it because you get 2x the light without using larger optics? There is a "Binoculars vs Telescopes" table at the bottom of the page, but it doesn't provide any real details. The table appears to be comparing their system with a standard hobby telescope which is larger and bulkier. But I'm wondering why they don't sell half their kit at ~half the price.

As I've heard it described, your brain has an easier time putting what little light information is there into a coherent picture; particularly for faint objects

I have a telescope, as well as a pair of binoculars, and not only is it easier to just keep both eyes open, it feels more immersive in general

Probably a combination of a few things, field of view, comfort in both neck position and eye strain, perhaps an ease of "looking at where you're aiming" too? This is from what I found from a few sites online, I do know that binoculars are recommended at beginner levels in astronomy, however medium-grade and higher levels probably use telescopes more.

Field of View is larger so makes it easier to "sweep". Also feels much more natural for the eyes to process than a telescope view

much easier for young kids to use
