This game was (and still is) flippin' fantastic! The single player mode was great, the two players mode was amazing, the music was banging.

If you never played it, I highly recommend you give it a try!

Tyrian's what gave me inspiration to create a space shooter on mobile! Some of the special weapons in my game are direct inspiration like the Plasma Storm and Soul of Zinglon. Granted my space shooter game isn't a scrolling space shooter though, someday I will try my shot at making one.

Also, it looks like they've ported other older games to web: https://midzer.de/games like Jazz Jackrabbit, Duke Nukem, Quake. Very nice!

This reminds me of a top-down vertical scroller I played the hell out of during that era, "Raptor: Call of the Shadows" ...

so much so I thought it must have been a re-skin from the same studio, or somehow related, but... it seems not? Amazingly similar motion and gameplay.
