Can we please not use the term "deep state" in this context? The extent to which it might exist is almost purely theoretical, and we have a tendency to form into being that which we name. So far, the "deep state" or "swamp" has been nothing such - no one fired has been part of some secret network of decision makers organizing with each other. They have all just been bureaucrats, maybe guilty only of defending a status quo.

The irony is that bad actors use perceptions of their enemies to justify their own actions. In this case, if one believes there is a "deep state" (whether true or false), they will feel the need to respond with one of their own. In this case, in an attempt to root out the "deep state" they have created a... a secretive network of decision makers taking political actions across a wide array of agencies. They became the monster they sought to destroy.

The monster they claim they sought to destroy.
