There's a German documentary about TK's ordeals called The Net (2003), in which details are explored regarding TK history, his deteriorating state of mind and connections to his targets.
That was my takeaway as well. But it's a good intellectual exercise to set aside the latter and entertain the idea of the former independently. A shocking number of people cannot do that.
