This factory was built as a part of the CHIPS act, so it's unrelated to him. If anything Trump escalating was probably pretty bad but his willingness to pivot is probably good. I know he shit talks about the chips act though which is definitely a mistake. Seems odd given his platform is about bringing manufacturing to the US.
One has to wonder if the entire point of killing CHIPS act is so that when some of the results finally come to fruition, CHIPS seems like yesterday's news and Trump gets the credit by default with his attention-span-of-a-fly cheerleaders. Similar shape but different direction from the dynamic Republicans have been playing with inflation for the past several decades - running up the debt with profligate spending, and then when the monetary inflation finally trickles down into consumer price inflation several years later their propaganda machine goes to work pinning it on the Democrat in office.
