Man using Meta AI glasses to film women prompts USF warning (e2ma.net)

I can see the clear benefits of smart glasses, but can't imagine owning them myself (until there's a local only version). It feels like it will be a social faux pas as well, as I can't imagine being comfortable in a social setting around smart glasses wearers knowing they could be recording anything I'm saying/doing.

I may be the luddite here and I'm sure if they get enough adoption it will eventually be commonplace, but at the moment I'm struggling with this.

I see this as socially acceptable as me going around carrying a broadcast camera on my shoulder.

I think one thing I'm concerned about, is that people don't like to wear glasses.

The other thing is, people also don't like to have overlays in their vision, video games have been moving away from them for example.

I wonder if we wrongly think that smart glasses are a better ergonomic experience but in reality they aren't.

I imagine the ergonomics of getting punched in the face for wearing this in public would be rather unpleasant.

Imagine trying to goto school and having to deal with this incel nerd shit. Good job, Meta, as usual. :-/. No one asked for this crap, no one needs it. You've taken what should be a worry-free exercise of going out in public and simply enjoying life and turned it into a miserable, dreadful, anxiety-filled experience. Fuck off.

Someone pointed out, in a few years cameras will be so small that we can't see them being used.

i predict mace, and fingernails, followed by a [mae geri gedan] in that future timeline

Sir, your chivalry truly astounds. Three cheers for you sir.
