Im battling this at work. We have 4 different monitoring solutions; sensu, checkmk, icnga, prometheus/telegraf. Everyone at work suffers through them because they are "known", however whenever i have to monitor something, i quickly grow frustrated at the limitations and features from my favorite monitoring (zabbix) that are missing in the other options.

If i want to watch 17k similar but different items in anything other than zabbix, ill be spending weeks building the checks. Thanks to templating in zabbix, done in 5 minutes. Sure this might be because im more familiar with zabbix than the others, but i generally feel critical features are missing from our other solutions. Trying to convince others to see the light has been tough
