> What’s happening with AI today was an inevitability. There’s no one to blame here. Human progress would eventually cross this line.
That's literally taking human agency out of the equation. None of this is inevitable and none of it has to be this way. There is not fate here, no divine power, no invisible hand of the market. People made the decisions of what to make, how to make it, and how to distribute it. You can actually find someone to blame for every one of these choices.
It is inevitable. The AI of today is from the massive contributions of thousands and thousands of people. Each change was incremental and none of those people did their contribution with the intent of harming anyone.
The individual has agency but the collective does not. Think of it this way, how can you stop the collective technological progress of humanity? Who is to blame for that?
It is outside individual human decision making in a way, but I never said this and I never said anything about spirits or religion.
