I just cannot stand Unity, I understand the whole tablet experience thing, but I'm not using it on a tablet. The first thing I did with Ubuntu 12 was remove Unity and install http://cinnamon.linuxmint.com/ for people coming from a Windows platform, it's like a nicer start menu.
